Name That Conductor!
There are times in life when all the stars
are in alignment or
maybe we just have a combination of extra golf tournament prizes
and members photos that just didn't make the cut for the front
page of our website. What's the answer? A photo contest!
![]()
And now as promised...
Happy Halloween and here's the answers to our contest!
Congratulations to the first place winner, Harlem line
conductor John Strilowich with 21 correct answers
and the two runner-ups New Haven's Shari Mirman and the Hudson line's Martha
Grant Harvell.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We'll start with an easy one. Just name the conductor since
we
don't
know the name of the women or the guy in the straight jacket!
Jovial Hudson line conductor Mike Koby
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Life is good for these two retirees! Name them.

Famed Harlem line retirees Roger Smith & Ken Mackey
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name the big fella and the midget (shameless self promotion:)
Legendary retiree Tom O'Shea & Paul Holland (yes it was Tom's hat :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name this Macho Man conductor :>) !
Harlem line's John D'Amato (who hopefully only borrowed that lipstick :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name the first three ACRE women members to play in our
Rail
Open Golf Tournament!
Done? Good! Now name the guy who
apparently was good looking enough to sneak in the photo
:>)
New Haven's Sharlene Deandrus, John B. Murphy, Kelly Grandfield
& Rebecca Rourke (Tiger Woods is Safe :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name this retiree! In fact, name the other two guys too.

The Hudson lines, Joe Moran, retiree John Grant
and his son-in-law, conductor Jim Dorien

Think this is too easy? Here's a tough one from a 1962 Harlem line get-together!
Name as many conductors as you can (if you can)!

This was obviously the tough one. Here's the folks we've
identified:
Front left and right: Carl and George Withus (or maybe George & Carl Withus :)
Left behind Withers in the checkered shirt: Bobby Fitzimmons
behind Fitz: Harry Frengs & Willie Jaeger
Back center in the black suit: John "Flash" Fallon (who looks suspiciously like
Red Skelton :)
To Flashes right: Eddie Peduzzi
To Ed's right: William Rohrig
To Bill's right: George Humphreys Sr.
To Georges right: Carmine "Sonny" Longo flashing his famous smile
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is this conductor a dreamboat or what?
Just my luck I'm a married man :>)
Name him if you dare.
How can you not love New Haven conductor Tom Wnek? :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who's this young, lunatic conductor photographed in 1988?

John Strilowich (who's son has some big shoes to fill :>)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bonus Points! This regular rider isn't a conductor
but
qualifies for frequent rider miles on all three rail lines!
One point for each of his three names!
Our buddy the Rockster!
Rocky, Paris, or Robert are all correct!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name the handsome retired conductor
pictured in this High School yearbook photo.
Too tough for you? Here's a hint: He retired in 2005.

How could you not guess El Presidente!
Retired Local 1 President Bryan Marcella
